Founded in 1628 and located in the heart of Bavaria (Germany), Lammsbräu is a true pioneer in organic brewing. Back in 1977, long before organic became popular, Dr. Franz Ehrnsperger, the brewery's sixth generation owner, introduced sustainability as the brewery's guiding principle.
Fifteen years ago, the conversion of the 380 year old Bavarian brewery to organic production was completed: Since then, every single bottle of beer brewed by Lammsbräu has been certified organic. Today, Lammsbräu is the world's leading organic brewery with an annual production of more than 50,000 barrels. Using only the purest ingredients, Lammsbräu exceeds the standards set forth by the Reinheitsgebot, the Bavarian purity law of 1516, stipulating that breweries must use only water, barley and hops to make beer.
